WHO IS IT FOR? This program is particularly suited to Islamic schools seeking meaningful character education experiences that complement their existing curriculum and Islamic Studies programs. It can also support: • wellbeing initiatives • Islamic character education • PDHPE programs • transition and pastoral programs • school-wide character initiatives • special learning days • literacy and storytelling events WHAT THE SCHOOL NEEDS TO PROVIDE To keep the experience simple for schools, requirements are minimal. The school provides: • a suitable classroom, hall or learning space • students seated so they can see and participate • a whiteboard/display screen where required • a teacher present during the session • any agreed student materials, if applicable The Centre provides: • the storytelling experience • all presenter materials • explicit character teaching • interactive discussion • student activity • Islamic pedagogical connections • preparation and coordination with the school HOW THE INCURSION WORKS Duration: 50 minutes per session Suitable for: Years 3–4 Group size: Designed for individual classes or small year-level groups. To preserve meaningful discussion and student participation, groupings are determined in consultation with the school based on: • cohort size • number of classes • student learning needs • venue • timetable The program can complement learning across: • PDHPE • English • Personal and social capability • Values and character education • Islamic Studies • Wellbeing programs • Pastoral care initiatives
